Looking down at the photo of rule of thirds, I see a hand rail and the shadows of a fence. I'm puzzled about the left hand side though. Is that water or do my old eyes deceive me?

I'm not suprised that your old eyes are deceived dear LGM as I think that the camera was deceived as well. It is fairly shallow water that was deep blue at that moment.

You should see the state of my boat! The swimming pool dries out twice a day but always comes back. Fish come right up close too. Needless to say the Herons come as well. The salt in the air probably doesn't help the grass to grow.

Yes, quite a strong and different composition here Nick. The water giving us a puzzle that at least you yourself have given us the clue to the answer. Nice fence and shadows here.
I am always a little puzzled that you should post these on the traditional HFF group Friday dates and also put in the HFF salutation but without actually entering it into the group. Although I see that you are indeed a member. Not that it really matters :)
