Bosque de La Hererría and San Lorenzo de El Escorial

Shadows were lengthening and it was at the end of a fairly long but pleasant walk. I had to get back to the bus station (behind the palace) and in midwinter it gets dark quickly. I was still 45 minutes away from the bus station, it was getting colder by the minute and so I wasn't going to hang around for too long taking photos but this view appealed to me! !

The trees almost look the same colour as the rocks and the shadows are very effective, they draw the eye towards the monastery in the background
