A wooden chamois buck on the Kitzbüheler Horn. It is the heraldic animal of the municipality of Kitzbühel (Tyrol, Austria).

Gute Frage, auf die ich keine Antwort weiß.
Aber weil hier in der Gegend auch andere Holzskulpturen herumstehen, denke ich, dass es einheimische Künstler sind, also Nordtiroler.

I suspect that larch wood is used. Due to its narrow growth and high resin content, larch is extremely weather-resistant. The lifespan in outdoor use reaches more than 50 years.
