Abandoned shoes on the Bike Path

“I don't know about other people, but when I wake up in the morning and put my shoes on, I think, Jesus Christ, now what?”
― Charles Bukowski

A pair of abandoned shoes / boots on the bike path, near Ashland, Oregon. I couldn't help wondering: does whoever left them here need shoes?

MiguelATF replied to aNNa schramm:

Thank you, Anna.
Maybe they weren't forgotten...maybe they were left there on purpose.
As an offering to the foot Gods. Or to the Deities of roads...or of travelers.
Or maybe there is a secret shoe exchange where some people appear to abandon shoes but they are really leaving them for other members of their secret society.
And when you belong to the society - when you are finally granted admittance - you too are or become...a 'conqueror'
