For one, I've always liked these sun 'rays' when they appear. I'm fascinated by the area and its history (Alfred the Great, etc) and this to me is a very pleasing shot!

My ancestors may even have been among those struggling through the marshes being watched by Alfred from the top of Burrow Mump!!!

Then there are all the civil war battle sites ...

I like the sun rays illuminating the scenery and also the reflection of the sun. Most of the old cameras though (or should I say compact cameras with smaller sensors, even if they're new) make the sun look like a big white overexposed spot...and that's what makes such shots a little less attractive in my opinion. But it's the same with my photos...as I'm usually too lazy to drag the SLR around ;-)

I've converted to a compact, too much to tote around all the various lenses, filters, tripods etc. at my age!

It certainly shows the flooded levels very well Maggie and I like the sun's rays and the pink hue in the sky. It also has a good depth of field. I like the shot very much.

For me, the composition is fine........I like the different levels and the contrast between the dark land and trees and the silvery light on the waters. The sky is lovely with some nice gentle colours.

The sun is a touch over-exposed, but the rays coming off it are lovely. Pretty darn good for an old mobile phone.

Shooting into the sun is really difficult at this time of year............and personally, I try and avoid it :-)

It has captured it very nicely in what are difficult lighting conditions
