Diane Putnam replied to Gabi Lombardo:

No, it is part of a big machine that scoops up hay to make bales.

Andy Rodker replied to Diane Putnam:

It's funny, I'm neither an HFF kind of person nor a group type either, yet here I am enjoying both (of course in a slightly sceptical yet refeened manner!)

Peggy C replied to Diane Putnam:

There is a small pond not far past our road. On the backside of it, the owner grows hay and every year I plan on watching them bale it it those 'marshmallow' shapes. He beat me again this year. ... guess I'll have to put a note on his door ... 'please let me know next year? '
Call them 'marshmallows' cause driving through South Carolina, the hay had been baled and wrapped in white plastic ... huge marshmallows !

You doing okay ?

Diane Putnam replied to Peggy C:

Yep, doing okay. I don't see many of those marshmallows here, I don't know why.
The farmers seem to like their hay "naked" around these parts. ;-)
I saw a Youtube video of the marshmallow process, it's elaborate and interesting!
