I like these country churches, surrounded by their old cemeteries. The neo-Gothic church of Saint-Medard underwent alterations in the 19th century when the bell tower was integrated directly into the façade.
GRANDE EGLISE DANS PETIT VILLAGE. J'aime bien ces églises de campagne, entourées de leur vieux cimetières. L'église Saint Médard de style néogothique a connu de remaniements au XIXe siècle lorsque le clocher a été directement intégré à la façade.
GROSSE KIRCHE IN KLEINEM DORF. Ich mag diese Landkirchen, die von ihren alten Friedhöfen umgeben sind. Die Kirche Saint Médard im neugotischen Stil wurde im 19. Jh. umgebaut, als der Glockenturm direkt in die Fassade integriert wurde.

Btw. I photographed a memorial in our local cemetery (Derbyshire) of a girl who in 1856 emigrated to 'Burlington Iowa' USA... a fellow photographer in Burlington picked up on my picture and actually went out and found her grave .. I am still in contact with the photographer today,.
