The River Wye and one of its Weir’s.

This very nice weir is just down-river a few hundred yards from the Monsal Viaduct itself. Not the best of photographic lighting days but it gives an idea of how it was.

Best full screen. Enjoy the day.

Very nice Image of this weir Herb nice shutter speed it's nice now that you can take a slower speed with Image stabilization hand held.
All the best.

Herb Riddle replied to TOZ:

Thanks Gordon. Yes it is nice to be able to do that. In practice this is about as low a speed that I dare to go, even so the camera was stabilised on top of a fence pole. The modern mirrorless DSLR's would give me as much as four extra stops but that is still for the future as far as I am concerned. Very glad you liked this one.

Cheers. Herb

Hi Herb
I like this picture very much!
It is a very different and exciting composition
I reckon the dull lighting works well, allowing the use of a longer exposure time to get the effect.
Best Wishes, Happy Monday,, and stay safe!!
