St Brides Bay adventure

A photo from way back in 2012 whilst doing a Welsh coast tour. A particularly likeable photo for me as this rope reminded me of some lost primeval sea reptile. A very welcome walk under blue skies after many days of torrential rain. See Pip for alternative view.

St Brides Bay is a bay in western Pembrokeshire, West Wales. Either Skomer Island or the mainland extremity of Wooltack Point at the western end of the Marloes Peninsula marks the southern limit of the bay whilst its northern limit is marked by Ramsey Island off St David's Head.

Herb Riddle replied to TOZ:

Thanks Gordon, especially for the star. An old Panoramio shot here taken on our three week grand tour of Wales, only days after my retirement date. I took a few of this scene and they all looked liked this. I, like you, find it refreshing to come back to these older captures on here reminding us that a good photo is good no matter when taken. I do think I was more photographically adventurous in those days as my body no longer wants to go that extra mile.

Thanks Nick. We share that feeling and thought. I reckon you could have a lot like this living ear the sea. Thanks for your star too.

Your composition here is brilliant Herb with that fantastic piece of rope making a superb leading line. I really like the textures and patterns in the sand/mud and the rocks either side of the sea. The man and his canoe stand out nicely. A gorgeous sky and lovely light too.

The PiP is equally as good.........the detail in the boat is spot on and I love the reflection of the boat in the pool of water with the rock. Once again, a nice bit of leading line from the mooring rope and the same lovely sky and rocks.

Two absolutely cracking shots**********

Another to warm your heart Keith and another from yesteryear too. Too nice to be in the back drawer I suppose. very happy that you enjoyed both scenes.
