The Bees of Manchester

On posting my last photo of Manchester's Victoria station I realised that I had never actually posted any of the Manchester Bees here.

So here are a few, seen on my trip here with our Ipernity friend David G Johnson in July 2018. It was in that year that a special celebration was to be had in celebration of the Manchester worker Bee. More than a hundred were dotted around Manchester, most painted by local school children in a competition. As you can see there were some splendid ones around.

Haha, yes they all have new clothes! I think that they were almost all the exact same model but each one painted differently. Glad you liked them Uwe.

It was all about the people hereabouts working as hard as busy bees! They were in the news for a year or two. I think most have gone now but some of the more professional looking ones are still in places like these main stations and airport.

Great that you popped in to see these memories my friend. It was a great day out and reminds me of a more recent day photo adventure with Toz (below). It goes on to prove that Ipernity is more than simple a photo sharing site. I think there were many people trying to get proof that they found every one of these bees but whether they got a prize for doing so, I don't know. Looking back at all the photos I took that day with you, I think I may well post yet more memories here.
