Incoming storms from the Atlantic

Seen on St Agnes Head just as the rains started to hit us. I do love to see nature’s sun rays in this way and the sea bird makes it for me. The hills in the distance are towards St Ives in Cornwall.

Herb Riddle replied to Rosalyn Hilborne:

Thanks Rosa. As said to Toz, it was all very wet but I did enjoy these captures. The bird reminds me of some of my watercolor paintings of landscapes where an added bird, exactly where this one is, is almost an necessity. (not that this had been painted in :) Glad you looked at full screen.

With most of your landscape images it's all about the light Herb..............and this remarkable shot demonstrates that perfectly!

I love the dark clouds with the crepuscular rays shining through them onto the surface of the water...........just fantastic. The silhouetted bird in flight is a great touch!

It must be viewed large.........it's magical..!!

Herb Riddle replied to Keith Burton:

Ah yes, light is always my goal here. However, I do not let it control the joy of the walks with nature. Most of the time I am accompanied by my wife. I think the capture of the bird just there was rather fortunate but that being said, I did see it and waited until it was in the right place in the frame. Glad you saw it large. Tomorrow i have its sister photo.
