The Golden Park

Another look at this Alexandra Park in Oldham , now toward the old ‘Lions den’ pavilion. This was another ramshackled structure until being completely re-furbished some years back now. A stone lion still sits at the foot of each front corner. Of course it is this burning gold tree that really strikes us here, a sign that Autumn is well under-way and Winter is just around the corner.

The pavilion looks beautiful Herb, but my eyes went straight to the star of the shot....that gorgeous burnt gold tree!! The three trees lined up by the pavilion also look good with their autumn blush. An excellent picture. Take care and have a good day. Rosa.

Herb Riddle replied to Rosalyn Hilborne:

Good that you went with my flow here, to that tree. Always a great place for autumn pictures. Pleased that you enjoyed this.

There are trees still in a gorgeous autumn and others already in winter
Each species has its own rhythm..
I also enjoy the effect of the long shadows on the grass
A very beautiful setting, Herb

Herb Riddle replied to J.Garcia:

Thanks Judite, yes we still have golden trees, even today, but there are not as many now. Shadows are a natural add-on to this too. Great that you liked it.

Glorious light and long shadows..........and a very attractive looking pavilion.........but as Rosa has said it's that gorgeous golden tree that stands out the most. The other trees look very nice too, but have been completely upstaged.

Another superb shot from this beautiful park Herb............very well done!
