The Wonders of Mallorca: Cúber

Our trip today is a mix of mountains and coast. Here we are at what I consider one of the most impressive regions of the Island; the Lake of Cúber. Interesting peaks all around me including the very impressive Puig Major. Today we have only a quick peek of this area before travelling onwards for we will return on another day for a real hike around the nearby Gorg Blau.

Cúber is an artificial water reservoir located at the valleys of Puig Major and Morro de Cúber, on the island of Majorca, Spain. With the Gorg Blau, they provide water to the city of Palma de Mallorca and the surrounding areas by the Almandrà torrent.

Gorgeous light and a beautiful rocky landscape. The colour of the water is sublime!

Herb Riddle replied to Keith Burton:

Ah yes, the water was a great colour here, presumably because of the limestone run-off. More snaps of this area later.
