Skopelos

SPC Roofs. A fleeting memory of the beautiful Greek Island of Skopelos from my trip here in 2012. Taken from our small tourist ship, arriving from Skiathos. All these wonderful buildings are looking over the gorgeous bay. A town of hundreds of churches that were once used as protection from pirates.

Hi Maurice. I remember the very tiny narrow streets everywhere, climbing forever higher -and the cats! Glad you liked it. ~ Herb

Amazing! Such an huge number of buildings packed in a small space.........with hardly a person in sight..!! I love the red terracotta roof tiles too.

What a fantastically difficult jig-saw puzzle this would make!

Herb Riddle replied to Keith Burton:

Thanks Keith. It was a great place for sure. There were people roaming the streets though and at the little harbour too. Yes, the red roofs are a photographers gift. Aye, it would make a fine jigsaw I guess. I once had a company, make an electronic jigsaw from another of my photos.

So a long time since when I was in Greece, in '98 for the third time, then never again. I would love to visit again.

Herb Riddle replied to Daniela Brocca:

Danni, Greece like your own homeland, to us Brits is a fantastic country to visit and spend time in. We have now had a few trips there and I shall visit the Islands again later this year. In that, I know I am very lucky. However, even without a real visit for you now since many years, perhaps you can just enjoy this scene with me. Regards, Herb
