Herb Riddle replied to John Goodwin:

Thanks a lot John. I was torn as to convert this magnificent colour photo into this grey monochrome but in the end you can see my decision. Glad you approve and like it.

Herb Riddle replied to gezginruh:

My pleasure to share this with you Füsun. It was in fact fully re-furbished in 2016 and so in reality looks quite new both from the inside and outside as my Pips photos show.

Ha ha, it would not be the first time that I have got soot in my eyes too from one of these steam trains. Glad you liked it -hope the eye soon gets better!

Herb Riddle replied to David G Johnson:

Thanks David, glad you likes this series. Yes, the Embsay-Bolton Abbey railway is a bonus to this area, along with Skipton and the Wharfedale Valley area. Well worth a visit indeed.

Hi Herb,

This black and white pic gives a great representation of the Taff Vale loco, especially in its bunker first mode..
It looks like the old days!

Best wishes

Herb Riddle replied to Peter_Private_Box:

Thanks Peter. The polished black and red of this engine were very nice but like you, I am rather pleased with the results of this monochrome conversion that gives it an air of age and reality. it seemed that on this short trip to Bolton Abbey -only this small bunker of coal is needed. Very happy that you liked it.
