The Strid -

The mighty River Wharfe channelled into this en-route down river. Often a swirling torrent after a storm. Recently a place where sadly deaths occurred too when a person(s) slipped into the torrents (possibly taking photos) and was carried away miles downstream.
Enjoy the light.

Excellent POV and light think the figures add to the Image.

Herb Riddle replied to TOZ:

Hi again Toz, to this special viewing. I too wondered about the figures but as you say they seem to hold this together. I just put this here as a reference photo to my support my comments which mentioned 'The Strid''. Glad you liked this low p.o.v

Both images are great.........but I much prefer this wider view with those moss covered rocks inthe foreground. Beautiful sunshine too and fine autumnal colours!

The figures in the shot are great for scale and are perfectly placed. Love it..!!

Herb Riddle replied to Keith Burton:

Ah, I see now your preferences for the perfect landscape Keith. You know, like me, we take loads of shots when we stumble on a place like this but what to edit and post. Here I chose the opposite side portrait as the master shot (which I have in landscape too) and only posted this as an afterthought. Of course very happy that you likes both really.

Herb Riddle replied to Steve Paxton:

Ah you would have enjoyed this place Steve. You might understand now too why I was having trouble walking after a day in this type of country. On our return some 4 hours later the light and atmosphere was gone.
