Its some thing I have always wanted to try I will do a north facing shot but it was into the city lights here so no point. this was set up as the southern pole is higher I set it on top of the rock , the north lower that went to the bottom of the picture. my normal astro setting here same as the bow.

For the bows you realy need ISO 1600. For trails I use ISO 400 t=30 sec.f/3,5

I agree with you that depending on ISO the number of stars you get I have gone down as far as ISO 250.
