Bubulcus ibis. There were three of these beside the pond this afternoon, but they didn't pose well together.

Thanks, Keith. They're "new" here, being first sighted ini North America in 1942.

Cattle egrets are visiting the UK in increasing numbers apparently, usually in the winter. There were around 100 or so reported last year with one recorded case of them successfully breeding, so perhaps we'll be seeing more which would be good.
