wollt mich est wundern, dass ihr noch so schöne Blumen habt, aber Starkville liegt ja auf der Höhe von Marocko. Hier blüht nichts mehr. Aber es gab schon Eisblumen!

I'm wondering why you still have such beautiful flowers, but Starkville is at the height of Marocko. Nothing is blooming here. But there were already frost flowers!

Ronald Losure replied to Ernst Doro:

I don't really know, Ernst. This is really one of the last flowers blooming here. I compared the climates of Casablanca and Starkville, and they are much different. The temperature fluctuates much more here than in Casablanca - both from day to night and throughout the year. Another big difference is that we receive a lot more rain in a year (1400 mm vs 400 mm) and it rains all year. The Gulf of Mexico is always warm, so only when the wind blows from the north does it become cold here. The weather in Casablanca seems very pleasant to me.

I think warm weather will end too soon for the caterpillar to grow up, Andy.

Great capture, Ronald !! Our climate is so strange now !! I still have begonia flowers on my balcony close to Paris, of course not in their splendor as before, but they are still there ! Incredible !!

Ronald Losure replied to Marie-claire Gallet:

Thanks, Marie-claire. Yes, climate is strange. Winter is not here yet, but snow is predicted here for later today. It doesn't snow here every year.

Ronald Losure replied to Pam J:

Your climate is more severe than ours, but we are expecting an inch of snow and a low of 21℉ tonight. We haven't had snow in several years.

Pam J replied to Ronald Losure:

We actually ended up at 7.4F last night ! We get crazy extremes very rapidly here. A week ago... 76F(that was also way too high for the time of year)

Ronald Losure replied to Pam J:

We got about 3 snowflakes yesterday. It was 21℉/-6℃ this morning.
