Dromedary near Jerusalem in 1970

One of the first camels I had seen. I had never dreamed that one day I would ride one and with such a beautiful saddle too.

Very much like the camels and saddles we saw in Jordon Eva. When I see people riding them, I always imagine that they would soon be sea-sick with the big rocking motion. I wonder how you felt? A great capture here albeit a little bright. Is it spitting or is that a tether?

Eva Lewitus replied to Herb Riddle:

I suppose you meant Jordan.I´ve never been there, but I am sure the camels looked the same. And no, I don´t think that seasick, but sitting and riding on them needs practice. He is eating herbs he found on the way. I never heard of camels spitting... Not like llamas ...

Herb Riddle replied to Eva Lewitus:

Thanks Eva. Yes I did mean Jordan where we visited Aqaba and Petra. I believe most of the camel family (family camelidae -including Llamas) spit as a defensive reaction. Thanks for the extra info my friend. ~ Herb
