Die Larven entwickeln sich in den Blütenköpfen verschiedener Korbblütler, z.B. Arctium lappa (so im Bild). In Mitteleuropa kommt die Art südlich der Mainlinie häufig vor, am Nordrand der Mittelgebirge dagegen selten.

The larvae develop in the flower heads of various daisy family plants, e.g. Arctium lappa. In Central Europe, the species is common south of the Main line, but rare on the northern edge of the low mountain ranges.
