Als Geburtsstadt des Dichters René Char ist l'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue ein kleines grünes Paradies mit vielen Seitenarmen der Sorgue, in der sich noch ihre alten Schaufelräder drehen. In der Altstadt sind Gässchen und Kanäle ineinander verflochten. Zu den Waschplätzen am Fluss führen Treppen vom Kai hinunter.
As the birthplace of the poet René Char, l'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is a small green paradise with many side arms of the Sorgue, where its old paddle wheels still turn. In the old town, alleyways and canals are interwoven. Stairs lead down from the quay to the washing places at the river.
