Amelia replied to Rosalyn Hilborne:

Yes - we were surprised to see so many cygnets in one clutch. One year this pair of swans nested on the pavement next to the village pond and right next to the road. The council set up a special walkway for pedestrians, and the swans led a peaceful life. Last year the nest was vandalised. It caused a terrible outcry. I don't know if the perpetrator(s) was caught, but I think that more folks were keeping an eye out this year. The ducks on the pond haven't produced one duckling this year yet. I think they are sulking. ;-))

A lovely family shot and what a big family it is. It will be hard work bringing up a brood that size. Good that people are keeping an eye on them.

it's funny to seen the UK-swans look exactly the same as the German ones ...

A beautiful swan family shot Amelia................it must have been lovely seeing them all together like that.

Sad to hear about the mindless vandalism last year!

Always good to see new life Amelia. I hope things are going OK for you over in Dundee. ( A place I do not know at all.)

Amelia replied to Herb Riddle:

I was born in Dundee, but didn't live there. I lived in St.Andrews until I was thirteen, then moved to Hampshire when my father got a job in the Royal Aircraft establishment. When I was twenty two I moved to Staffordshire, then I moved to Shropshire where I still live. ;-))
