Canon PowerShot .. SX20 or SX40
Would appreciate suggestions from anyone who uses either of these Canon PowerShot cameras ::: SX20 IS OR SX40 HS on doing the following.

There are several old, brown-colored [ aged ] newspapers too large to scan. This is something for my husband who has a website re: midcarolinaradio.com. ---
He would like to add this info to the website for May. I need to know a 'good' way to go about taking photos [ with tripod ] so they can be used on his website.

Suggestions about camera settings -- anything... just please put it in basic language for me ! I am not a techie person at all!

Thank you so much,
Peggy

I don't have a guess on what camera settings you'd want to use, and I don't have a Canon, anyway. But I wonder if you could scan the newspaper pages in pieces, and then stitch them together using Photoshop or Windows Live Photo Gallery or something? Downsides are that it might be a little unwieldy, and you might damage the newspaper trying to do it. But it might be easier than trying to photograph them, and the images would be clearer (assuming it worked at all.)

Clint, scanning the old newspapers in pieces is what I'm trying to avoid. They are brittle... 1940s papers - you know the kind that used to be large?
Easy or not is no problem -- returning them unharmed is the biggie ! Thanks though !
