What a difference a couple of days make!!!
Last time I wrote on here, it was lovely and warm - I'd even been able to have the lounge window open to let in fresh air. Now today the temperature had dropped to 6C - ridiculous, what's going on? Mandi said that their weather in Turkey wasn't much better neither. Apparently she says that it's still snowing in Istanbul - what's happened to the weather?

Well lucky for me - if the sun is shining, it's warm in my lounge. Having a bay window means that I have sun shining in the whole time it's facing south. So therefore the plants in my bay window are really relishing the sun. So far the geraniums have continually flowered for over a year now - incredible.

So today I took some pictures of my view from the couch.

This is what I see when I sit down on my couch and look to my left towards the window. Soon there will be blossom outside - so beauty outside as well as indoors.

These geraniums (there are two plants) have been constantly flowering for over a year now!!!! I've never heard of that before - I don't have central heating, so maybe that's the reason. There are new ones announcing their presence too...

Then I see the flamingo plant. My son bought me a tiny little ornament, with this small plant in it. I decided to re-pot it in a larger container - and it's gone mad!!! What started out as one flower - there's loads of them now!!!

You can see that spiders seem to like this plant for making their webs on. I'll have to allot a couple of hours and sit down on that other couch, with a bowl of water and a rag and wash the leaves and flowers..... to get rid of these sticky webs.

There is another plant, that Anne (my neighbour) gave me a couple of weeks ago - don't know what it's called, but the flowers are going to be white. I've a feeling I had a similar plant a couple of years ago...

Now a couple of years ago - Emily gave me a plant with bright red flowers, but over time, they've faded from deep red to a sort of transparent brownish. It looked like flames - brilliant.

I haven't shown the rest of the bay window - the yucca and the hoya as well as the ferns are taking up most of the space. It's just that at the moment the other plants are giving me colour. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend to come. I'm not sure what I'm doing - maybe doing some more jewellry pendants or maybe even get the bowl of warm water and the rag and get at those cobwebs. Oooh I do lead an exciting life!!!!!

Thats a really lovely assortment of flowers. The red are Anthurium. Not sure about the others. . Though the one you say faded from red to light brown is likely missing something in the soil. Since I m not sure of the species, I dont know what for certain it needs. Though I suspect citrus (a lot) skin and rinds mixed with the dirt would be helpful getting the red back. I suspect its lacking acid in the, soil. But again, uncertain.

That's a good idea Gracie - I'll have a look at old pictures I took of the plant, when I got it and maybe I can find its name. If it needs re-potting, I can do that too.

Gorgeous plants, and they obviously love that window. Hope they continue to give you pleasure.

Past 3 mornings here, I've had to scrape ice from the windscreen. Hard to believe that just a few days ago, it was 17C and beautiful. Hope it warms up again soon.

Oh they do give me pleasure and have done for the last 20 years or so, well 23 actually!!

I realised when I looked at the temperature thingy I've got, that last night was the coldest I've noticed this year!!! It's the beginning of April for heaven's sake!! It actually went down to -1C - and we were basking in early warmth a couple of days ago - with the window open all day!! Mandi said that it was snowing in Istanbul - what's going on there? I mean Australia is suffering with floods and it's the summer there - it's ridiculous the way the weather is behaving at the moment.

I hope your week goes well, Fran.
