I actually walked outside to see my spring flowers
Well today it was a mild day and with a bit of sun. My neighbour came round yesterday and told me that as he walked down my driveway, he saw all the lovely primroses were out. That decided it - I said that as soon as it was dry and sunny-ish, I was going to go up the drive to see for myself. Well this morning, I had my chance. I couldn't go out with my rollator because it's too big for me to get through the back door without help, so I pushed my trolley up the drive - it was hard work, but I did it. I was so glad that I did bother to go out because I've missed seeing the primroses.

Oh I was so happy to see them. There are a few polyanthus (pink ones) but they'll probably be flowering in a couple of weeks. I haven't weeded the driveway for about 5 years or so, my neighbours do sometimes do it for me, but I'd rather it was left alone, so that all the wild flowers can grow.

I also noted that one of my big apple trees had fallen down, had been cut up and was safe. That meant no apple blossom from it though :( :(

Then I noticed that another tree was starting to show blossom - don't know if it's an offshoot of the old apple tree, so I took a couple of pictures of it just in case!!

The blossom is only small, but it's a start. Then on my way back to the house, I walked under the lilac trees and whoa .... there's actually buds starting out!!!

That's a great indication that soon I'll have lilac blooms everywhere. They are late this year, but there again with the weather we've had, it's not really surprising.

I came indoors, very tired, but elated. It was well worth the trip. Just to go outside was wonderful - not something I can do easily. So that was my treat today. It's gone cold again - what is going on with this damn weather eh?

Okay folks, please stay safe and well. It's Mickey's funeral on Thursday 17th, so those of you who were his friend, think of him for a moment please.

Thursday I will do a toast to Mick as I said. I think its the kind of thing he'd appreciate. He' ll be missed.
That was a good trip out for you. I have a primrose in my window. They sell them in February but they don't grow on their own here till at least end of March. I love all the different colors they come.
We have had some odd weather. Twice since I am back from Florida we had snow and sleet. The most recent Saturday. Today(Tuesday) I wore sandals! Lol. Crazy is right!

Yes I've got my brandy and ginger wine ready for tomorrow - it's at 2.30pm our time, if that's any help to you.

Yes I don't go out very often, because I'm scared of falling down, and there's no-one here to help me. My mobile doesn't work all the time, so that's no good. My neighbours seem to be away a lot, they've got their children living nearby and also they're church goers and so there are a lot of things they do with regard to the church.

Yes yesterday was lovely and warm - well it was about 15C but then today I've had to have both radiator and halogen fire on!!!! It's ridiculous.

2:30 your time is only 9:30 am mine. A bit too early to imbibe anything but coffee! But its St Paddys day and Rick will always have a guiness and a shot of Tulemore dew after dinner. Ill join him with my Baileys..

What a lovely splash of spring colours Jenny. Thanks for sharing. Shame about the apple tree...
It was beautiful recently, then Thursday morning, we had frost! Can't make up its mind.

I shall have a small whisky tonight (Thursday) to toast Mickey.

That's what I thought Fran - even though it's the middle of March and we should be well into Spring by now - this year the weather has been all over the place, so it's not surprising I suppose. Hopefully the bluebells should bloom in the next couple of weeks.. Yes I'll have a small brandy for Mick tonight.
