I've been out!!!!!!!!!!!
My gorgeous new friend, Emily, came today as usual and she said that as the weather was good - did I fancy a quick trip to the seaside!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn't believe what she was saying - she said that she realised how much I was missing the sea, and was happy to take me out for a quick trip.

WELL !!!!!!!!!!!!! how could I say no? Apart from the fact that I'm still having problems breathing - the trip out was too strong a pull. So we quickly got ready and drove out to Westward Ho!. I expected to feel strange actually being outside after 9 months of being indoors - but I felt perfectly fine. The sun was shining, there were a lot of cars around, still many tourists here apparently. She drove to the area with a good view of the beach. The tide was coming in fast, and also the waves were great - good ones for surfing, but there weren't many people doing that - there were some brave souls swimming though!!!!

As you can see, there were a few people about, but it was otherwise lovely and quiet. I had the window down in the car and the sound of the sea was amazing. There is something so soothing about the sound of waves. I know I can see this view from the webcams - but nothing like actually being there. I've really missed the sea - oh so much. I don't think I can thank Emily enough for what she's done for me today. She said it wasn't a problem for her, but for me? Oh I was so happy, I nearly had a little cry of gratitude, but I know it would have embarrassed her, so I was a brave little soldier and kept quiet!!!!

The waves were coming in fast - breaking over the rocks and they would soon consume the swimming pool, but we had to leave before that happened, as Emily had to go to collect her children from school.

I have been watching this area for a while now (on the computer) and it has been so busy, but it was good to see that it was quiet again - yet staying warm in the sun, out of the wind.

Tomorrow she's coming up again to wash my hair - I'm having problems doing it at the moment, I can't get my arms up and back to do it - she's an amazing lady!!!

So folks, I just wanted to let you know - this recluse is no longer!!! I do hope you all have had a great day too.

I am so pleased to hear you have managed to get to the sea again Jenny. It is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy. I took my sister to Snowdonia again today but I am expecting restrictions soon as there is a high level of covid 19 in the North West. I expect to be in a form of lockdown again before long.

Yes it was absolutely wonderful to get out and about. I tried to explain to Emily what she'd done for me, was so amazing to see the sea. I'm sure your sister will be happy to see Snowdonia again - it's so beautiful there. I do hope the lockdown won't affect you too much.

Good for you and that Emily is a peach! I can totally understand why you felt almost like crying. All these months cooped up are terrible for our mentality. Even for you who normally doesn't mind. We are social animals and not meant to isolate. Im very glad for you. Please thank Em for me. As your friend, I appreciate what she does for you. Lovely pictures too!

Yes Emily is an amazing girl. Was I lucky or what, when I took her on to clean for me? She's proved herself to be an absolutely fantastic friend. She even came round this morning to help me wash my hair, as I was finding it difficult to do it myself. So now I feel all nice and clean again!!!!

The scenery and photos look gorgeous! I'm so glad you were able to have an outing, even if only for a short while. That was so nice of Emily.
I miss the sea too, especially now that I'm landlocked.
Lovely photos, thanks for sharing.

I have always lived close to the sea - in fact I do think that the furthest away from the sea, I've lived, has been 10 miles. Mandi wants me to move to Turkey to be with her, and I would only do this if I could have a house which faced the sea - there are so many there that do, so with a bit of luck I just may go!!!

Jenny McIntyre replied to Mickey fez:

I will Mickey - just like I will on behalf of Steve, Gracie and Fran above. It was absolutely fantastic to see the sea and smell the ozone, Even though I feel lousy at the moment with this chest infection, it still did me the world of good.

Oh I'm well aware of how lucky I am, Val - in fact I'm blessed with great neighbours too - don't know what I've done to deserve them all. Emily has said that when the weather is good, she'll come and take me again!!!
