Am I a lucky son of a gun or what???
Today I was fully intending on cutting my lawn for the first time this year. All I was going to do was to ask Emily if she would carry the mower from the hall out into the garden, so I could cut the grass. She said she'd certainly take it out for me, but there was no way she'd let me cut the grass as she was perfectly able to do so. So while I was trying to think of a way of thanking her - she was out there cutting the lawn - it only took her 10 minutes and it would have taken me over a couple of hours because I have to stop and start all the time.

I am so blessed. She said she really enjoyed being out there in the sun and cutting the grass wasn't difficult for her. It is a new mower too - so maybe it's easier than my old one. So today was a wonderfully warm day - I may even go as far to say a hot day!!!! It was 23C which is hot compared to how it had been these last few weeks.

When Emily had finished the grass, we sorted out more plastic tubs and now I have tubs for not only my material for patchworking, but material etc for my soft toys, and now I have a separate tub for my jewellry craftwork, and I found some glass paint in a smaller tub, which I'd completely forgotten about - so that's been put in a larger tub for all my extra craftwork items. I'm going to be busy aren't I?

After Emily had gone home, I decided to go out and see my driveway because the bluebells have been out there for quite a while and I just wanted to see how many were left up the drive ............. well hand on heart, I've known this place for 60 years and I have never seen so many bluebells on my driveway.... they are all wild, none of them have been planted - I am absolutely blown away by their beauty. Look at what my driveway looks like...

Pippin came out to see where I was going - as usual - he just wanted to keep an eye on me, but when I tried to keep a camera eye on him - he turned away......

It's really funny - he hates having his picture taken - so unlike my other cat Roxy who used to love having his photo taken and would pose for me!!!!

As you can see my driveway needs weeding which I hope to do sometime after my return from Turkey - or else I'll ring up the Volunteer Bureau to see if they have any gardeners who are on their books and who don't charge an arm and a leg for doing gardening!!

Bluebells are so beautiful and they really do carpet the ground - now they are starting to cover the ground between the trees....

Well now I've completely bored you with my bluebell fascination - just wait - I've got apple blossom and white lilacs out too!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter holiday.

Yes you are.

Well Bluebells are self sowing and when they like a place they quickly take over, both the pale and the darker blue species one ebing originally Spanish.

We re beginning to get s few here but they do not grow tall like in England, we never had any at all 60 years ago.

Well they must love this garden because they're also down the larger garden, but I can't go down there to see them, but I've been told they are looking great.

I've also got white bluebells as well as the pale blue and the darker blue species. Oh we've always had bluebells here John, we also used to have crocuses and snowdrops, but these have all died off. Never mind - if I want to see any - I'll just go next door and see them because they've got both!!!!!

Jenny McIntyre replied to Gracie:

Yes Gracie - Emily is indeed a treasure and one I'll certainly look after. I landed on my feet when I found her. To her, she's just doing things she enjoys doing - but I think Home Help describes her work for me more than cleaner - but friendship is the main thing - she's so on the same hymn sheet as me and we laugh most of the time she's here.

That was really nice of her, and yes, you are lucky.
The driveway looks simply gorgeous. A fantastic display of flowers. The bulbs in the gravel bed here turned out to be bluebells too, and whilst a little sparse (it's a small garden) they are pretty.
I wish I lived closer Jenny as I'd happily help weed that lovely garden of yours.

Jenny McIntyre replied to Bee Orchid:

Oooh and I readily let you Fran - I've got to find someone who loves a challenge and enjoys the wild flowers and would leave them alone to grow. Yes the driveway is so pretty - it probably helps that I haven't driven up and down the drive because I haven't driven for over a year now, so the flowers have been left alone. I'm glad you have found some bluebells on your gravel bed - they are so easy to look after - you ignore them!!!! LOL

I love the drive Jenny but to be honest I'm not a gardener. I have two bluebell woods close that I visit at this time of year.

Jenny McIntyre replied to Maeluk:

I'm not a gardener now Steve neither - that's why I love the wild flowers, that means that they can come and propagate as much a they want to!!!! As I'm virtually housebound, having these gorgeous flowers here in my garden means I don't miss out on Spring!

Yes I know I've fallen on my feet with Emily. As I said before - this is the first year I've ever known so many bluebells on the driveway - and no - you can't improve on nature
