Easter is almost upon us, so is the warm weather...
Well according to the weather forecasters, we should be enjoying a wonderful warm Easter - full sunshine is expected together with really warm - about 23C which would be wonderful considering I've had to have my radiator on until yesterday!!!! We had temperatures of up to 11C for the last week, which is too damn cold for no heating in the house, but today I actually had the window open again until nearly just after 6pm.

I was looking out of the open window and I noticed that the flowering cherry blossom is almost over. It's had it's 3 weeks of showing off, but the strong winds we had at the beginning of the week, put paid to it staying on the tree!!! It was like confetti all over the lawn. Which brings me to what I hope to do tomorrow - we are expecting blue sky and that means that the grass is going to grow much quicker. I'm going to ask Emily if she'd take the lawn mower out for me and put it on the grass, so when she's gone, I can cut the grass - okay it might take me a while to do it, but at least I'm going to have a go.

As you can see, we didn't have much of a blue sky yesterday - but it was warm and that was all that matters. Whereas today, the clouds did actually leave for a while!!! Pippin likes to sit out on the coal bunker and just keep an eye out for intruders, namely other cats, and this morning there was an intruder. A three legged tabby, I call Tripod, but his actual name is Merlin!! Now Tripod isn't the friendliest of cats, probably because he's only got 3 legs and he's getting on a bit, so it's getting more difficult for him to get around. Well Pippin realised that he wasn't worth getting all hot and bothered about, and just let Tripod walk down the driveway to his house!!

I went out to see him and whilst I was leaning on the coal bunker, I noticed how quiet it all was. Now the seagulls have had to find another place to have their nest, there wasn't their usual squawking, just the odd blackbird singing away, but otherwise - silence. Wow - I live on the outskirts of the town, so it isn't noisy, but to have complete silence was amazing. So no wind, just warm sunshine and calm -bliss.

As you can see the bluebells are still out in their beautiful blue dresses and they've given me a wonderful display for many weeks now - and it does look as if they might just still be here for another couple of weeks.

I was sitting at my kitchen window because I wanted to see how my cactus was doing - the buds are getting bigger and it shouldn't be long before the flowers actually start to open up.

Well Mandi will be here with me in 2 weeks and I can hardly wait. I've booked a hire car for 8 of the days she's with me, so we can go and visit Tony and the kids, also so we can go and visit the places she misses - Instow and watch the dogs playing on the beach - Northam Burrows and watch the sheep and horses grazing and then go on the pebble ridge and see the ocean - although she lives almost at the sea in Turkey - it's the Mediterranean and there isn't a tidal difference - whereas here where it's the Atlantic Ocean, the sea goes out over a mile which is so mesmerising. As she's coming in 2 weeks, it means that in 4 weeks, I'll be in Turkey!!! It will be so lovely to go and visit friends there and just go and sit in one of the cafe's and watch the world go by.

Okay folks, it's late and I need my sleep - I would have said "beauty sleep" but I think I'd have to sleep for many many hours to get that!!!! I wish you all a very happy Easter weekend.

Well Jenny we have a drought here with temperatures at 20 C but take in mindI live way up in the north something like 60 miles north of Glashow. We've had no rain in April at all.

Enjoy it while you can, you may not get any more summer.

Thanks for this John LOL. Yes I know that I should enjoy it while I can - because last year we had a fantastic May and then all the months after were not something you'd write home about!!!

Lovely photos. I just love your garden. How exciting that Mandi will be there soon, and then you'll be off to Turkey. I bet you're counting the days. I know I would be.
It's definitely warming up, and we've had some lovely sunny, warm days. Even when it's been a tad cloudy, it's still been warm which is great.
Have a lovely Easter Jenny, enjoy your garden, just don't overdo it with the mowing.

Thanks for this Fran - I love my garden but it's so overgrown because I haven't been able to do anything for 10 years!!! Still I say that I've donated the garden to wildlife, which they are all asking us to do, I'm just giving my whole garden!!!! I am indeed counting the days until I go to Turkey - I haven't managed to go for 3 years now, so I'm getting excited. Have a great Easter too Fran and as for mowing the grass - my cleaner (home help I now call her) did it for me this afternoon!!!!

Two weeks until Mandi comes here, then two weeks later we go to Turkey!!! As I've said above to Fran - I didn't have to mow the lawn, Emily did it for me - she enjoyed doing it!!! Am I lucky or what? Happy Easter to you too sweetie. I hope you are feeling much better now, and that it won't be long before you're back on the pillion seat of Rick's bike!!
