The inclined slope is brief and fleeting in its declivity

vertical trees at the background horizon

insert themselves into the terrain drawing angles.

A tired glance towards origin

into the womb

to the parched and paltry land where cattle flies in the air are almost clever beings

because they insinuate into the eyes

and the honey of our ears

with the acumen of whom dives into waters

and the indifference of whom is intelligent

but they only are little persistent and diaphanous flies in Guinea February 1974.

I start climbing the slope at uncertain rhythm

tired from the oblique abysses I know

under the insistence of the little flies almost intelligent

I carry on the almost dream

of almost everything

without Gedeão's formulas (*)

but the same idea germinating in the sensibility swamp of the womb where I fall asleep.

A vertente inclina-se mas é breve e fugaz no seu declive

árvores verticais em relação ao horizonte

inserem-se no terreno formando ângulos.

Um olhar cansado em direcção às origens

ao ventre

à terra ressequida e mesquinha onde no ar moscas do gado são quase seres evoluídos

porque se insinuam nos olhos

e no mel dos nossos ouvidos

com a perspicácia de quem sabe mergulhar nas águas

e a indiferença de quem é inteligente

mas são apenas pequenas moscas persistentes e diáfanas na Guiné Fevereiro 1974.

Começo ao ritmo incerto da vertente percorrida

cansado dos abismos oblíquos que conheço

com a insistência das pequenas moscas quase inteligentes

e continuo como sempre no quase sonho

de quase tudo

sem fórmulas de Gedeão

mas a mesma ideia a germinar no pântano de sensibilidade onde o ventre em que adormeço.
