Dust Bunnies
By the mid-point of my week off we’d enjoyed a takeaway. We average 2 or 3 a year lol. As always it was good, we had the same curry as previously as it was so nice, though this time we opted for chicken pakora as a starter. OMG it was tasty! A lovely meal, though as usual I was kept awake most of the night ‘suffering’ from too much garlic and salt; it’s the main reason, as well as cost, why we don’t eat takeaway often.

In the end, I didn’t go to the next town over for clothes. I’d stopped at a supermarket I don’t often use and saw some nice blouses. I bought a vest top, and a new blouse. I liked them so much, that 2 days later, I went to a larger branch of same supermarket and bought a few more items. Seriously, with blouses that cost £6 each, and only £4 for a vest top you can’t go wrong. I wear the vest tops under other t-shirts or blouses as I feel the cold these days. It’s a nice day here, around 17C, and I have 3 layers on in the house. Must be getting old LMAO I’ve chucked out a few of my oldest tops and was pleased that I could get one size smaller, and they fit nicely.

Oh, on that note, sort of, regular readers may remember I had a blood test back in January for blood sugar levels. After waiting weeks, I eventually asked the nurse on reception for the results, and she said they were fine. This week I got a text from the GP stating they’d reviewed the results and my level had gone up again. I’m one point into being prediabetic, again, and did I want a ‘life coach’ and to go to exercise classes. I declined. I’m going to be more careful, however I’m not overly worried as the test was taken just after Christmas and I’d had Christmas cake and other ‘stuff’. Since then, I have cut down again as I’m watching my weight anyway though why did they review it after 5 months, and what the h*ll took them so long anyway?

Recently, the dust bunnies have been keeping me awake. I can hear them, under my bed, making more dust bunnies (not crazy, just daft). The one day I dragged out all the cr*p from under my bed, vacuumed it all, then vacuumed all under the bed. It’s a wooden framed bed, so there’s a lot of room under it and I keep paperwork in large plastic storage boxes on one side, and excess canned goods on the other side, again in storage boxes. Whenever goods that we use are on offer, I’ll top up, and store excess under my bed. I could hole up there for weeks lol if I don’t mind cold food though not sure I could eat dry lentils.

Tomorrow, I’m popping out for a few groceries, then I’ll take the car to the garage for them to give me a quote on some work that they picked up from doing the MOT in March. It involves brake pipes, so I doubt it’ll be cheap. Oh well, fingers crossed anyway…

I’m still waiting to see if our local council loses their Conservative seat. Oh, I hope so! With Partygate, and the lies spouted by our clown of a leader, they don’t deserve to win too many seats.

Have a good weekend.

Update: Conservative party held onto our town, and even gained some seats. Unbelievable!

My daughter went to Aldi today with my friend, and she bought loads of spices and sauces that she can't get in Turkey, and she had a smile on her face - so wide. She was ecstatic. (whatever floats her boat, I say!!!). When I found out the cost of them - I was stunned - so cheap. I do tend to buy stuff that is on offer, that I can keep either in the freezer or in the larder, because nowadays you have to be so careful with money - now that other costs have shot up. My friend who goes to M&S and Sainsbury was shocked at the prices of things there, and I think she'll be visiting there for some amazing bargains.

I do hope you've enjoyed your week's off. Also that your car's repairs weren't "off the charts". I don't have a car at the moment, so I don't have to worry about things like that. I'll wait til the prices come down to a more acceptable level.

Nice deals shopping for your tops. They sell clothes at the supermarket there? I don't know sometimes. We may have an occasional item of clothes for sale like a local school team shirt or the like, but our supermarkets are food and household needs like cleaners. We'd never have a clothing choice. Funny how some things are so different.
5 months to review your bloodwork? Phttt! You need new work by now. I too lately have run 1 point toward hypoglycemic. But that only started recently since they added medications. So many meds change your body. Then they want to give ANOTHER med to fix what the original med started! Unreal...
Nice on the size change. Always makes one happy.. I hope you enjoyed your break. And the car repair isn't too bad. Jenny is right. Costs have gone up dramatically. Most things here have gone up at least 25% but mostly more. 40% seems to be the average. Dont worry. Our governments are working on it. Working on the lies they tell is all. And our so called leader is a " liberal". Very Liberal with our money in particular!

I doubt prices will come down, if ever. Especially not whilst a certain country is waging war. This is having a huge knock-on effect globally

Thanks Jenny. I tend to go to the 'foreign' section in some supermarkets as they have packets of spices that are much cheaper than buying their own brand small jars. I then wash, and top up the jars with the cheaper brands. Glad Mandi managed to get some things that she wanted.

Thanks Gracie. Yes, all the 'Big 4' sell clothes, and you can get some really nice clothes too, often at a great price. They sell a huge range of products, even TV's in some of the larger branches.
I won't bother with any meds. As I said, I got it down last time on my own, and I'll do it again simply by being more careful.
Oh yes, I was delighted to drop a size :)
How can you tell a politician is lying? Their lips are moving! An old one, though very apt I think.

Overall the Conservatives lost a huge amount of seats, and lost control of 11 councils thus far. Time for Boris to go as he's hurting his party by staying IMO

I guess whatever party in currently is the bad party. The real point is they're all out for themselves and screw the people.
