Putting Photos in Groups on Ipernity
This article contains the text of my reply to a member who had made several group recommendations for my recently-uploaded photos.

"Thank you for the recommendations. It is time-consuming for me to work through all of them, because I am not familiar with the many groups on Ipernity. Given enough time, I can evaluate each group to decide whether I can join or not, and whether that photo, or perhaps some other photo would fit within the group's rules.

I don't have time every day to study the group recommendations, but right now, I do have the time to upload new photos, and get them into the groups that I know about.

I am about to remove myself from Flickr (over 8,000 images), after many years, and will keep a large number of images on Ipernity. However, I expect that the uploading,
captioning and identification will take a lot of time."

I beg everyone's patience, as I add photos.

Welcome to ipernity (I see you've been here for a few months, but a 'welcome' is never too late, is it?).

I don't think that anyone will be disturbed by delays in response to group suggestions. We are a pretty friendly bunch, which I'm sure you've noticed. I personally would never be upset by someone not accepting a group suggestion. Everyone has their own level of involvement and are simply welcome when they are here!

I see that you just joined the group 'Flickr Refugees'. I am officially the 'administrator' there. There is a discussion where you can post your flickr user name if you want - in case you have friends from flickr that might like to find you here. While the group gets a good number of photos, I don't think there are very many comments made through the group itself. If you would like to suggest a way to improve that, feel free to create a new discussion. 'Flickr Refugees' is a group that came to me when the last administrator left, it's not a group I started, but did contribute to. I am more active in the groups I began myself. You might enjoy 'naturey crap - crappy nature' (name explained on group page), or 'plants vs structures'. I've 'suggested a couple of your photos to those groups, so you should be able to easily find them there. You don't have to join the groups in order to put a photo in the groups, if you don't want.

Again, I find our membership to be easy going. And again, welcome!
