Fall, Ektar, and Gimp...

After completing a major upload a few days ago, I noticed that I hadn't written a blog entry since I had had trouble with Greasemonkey. Apparently, both Greasemonkey and the Flickr to iPernity Importer now work, so that problem is solved for the moment, thanks to an upgrade to both (in addition to Firefox).

Getting to the Upload, all but one of the shots in this latest upload are Czech, as my travels lately have taken me closer to my home base in Prague than in previous years. Nevertheless, (with one exception) the upload is limited to travel photos and Prague photos for the moment, and in addition, many of the shots were taken with my cameraphone. The convenience of always having it with me has made this so, even though I always say that I prefer a real camera.

I've also been experimenting with raising the contrast and saturation on all my shots in Gimp. Of course, this is old news in a sense since I've been conducting these experiments for a year and a half now, but this has been the first Fall foliage season to see me doing almost exclusively Gimp edits, in spite of also being the first year for Ektar film in my stream. I may also post some relatively unedited shots in my stream, but my real priority for the new year is to break out of this cycle of only posting travel shots. Most people post them to keep up the continuity, but I'd like to get back to doing something more serious, of course.

In the meantime, check out my document stream. iPernity is the place to see all my public photos, although I plan to update my DeviantArt and rrpicturearchives streams too. They're about three or four months behind, so I clearly have a lot of work to do with them.
